Department of Social Services

The Early Childhood Intervention Coordinating Service (SYEPP) addresses preschool children (up to 8 years old) who present with developmental difficulties (mental disability, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, speech delay, genetic syndromes, motor difficulties, prematurity, etc.).

SYEPP is offered by the Committee for the Protection of Persons with Mental Disabilities (EPANA), which operates under the auspices of the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare.

The Child Early Intervention Officer (ECO) does not provide treatments but, taking into account the needs of the family and the child, promotes the family’s financial and other rights (e.g. EEE, GeSY, etc.), provides psychological support and counseling to parents and helps coordinate the services involved for the benefit of the child. In general, the LEPP is the connecting link between the family and the service providers.

SYEPP is provided free of charge and there is no waiting list. The worker is trained in psychology and the services are offered free of charge, with absolute confidentiality and confidentiality.

The Early Child Intervention Officer for the provinces of Larnaca/Ammochosto is Ms. Natasa Hatzigiannakou, who is housed in an office at the Aradippou Town Hall.
